Overview of the Project:
The Barzan Gas Project is a monumental initiative in Qatar to boost the nation’s domestic gas supply to meet its growing energy demands. The project extracts natural gas from Qatar’s massive North Field, processing approximately 1.4 billion cubic feet of gas daily. The processed gas primarily uses power generation and water desalination, supporting Qatar’s infrastructure and industrial growth. The project also produces by-products like condensate, LPG and sulfur, contributing to Qatar’s export revenues.
Total Investment: Over $10.3 billion
Key Features:
- Offshore platforms connected to onshore processing facilities.
- Advanced gas processing technologies to maximise efficiency.
- Strict adherence to environmental and safety standards.
